Under The Sunflowers is finished. If you head to the Table of Contents under The Book, you’ll find chapters listed with a brief description and estimated read time. If you see a date next to a chapter, that’s when it will be published. I plan to release two chapters per week, with the full project completed by early October.
My book is written, revised, and in final format. There won’t be delays waiting on my writing to catch up. I’ve chosen to schedule the chapter releases over time to help generate steady interest and, more importantly, to support the charities tied to this project consistently. This also gives me time to focus on marketing and outreach.
My goals are simple:
- Raise money for Lakota charities.
- Build interest in my writing.
For perspective, a typical middle grade author receives an advance between $5,000 and $20,000. I’m using that as a guideline, with a goal to raise $10,000 by early October with a stretch goal of $20,000.
I’m starting things off by donating $1,000 myself, and my company will match it—so the remaining fundraising target is $8,000 to $18,000.
